Andrew W.K. Smashes Drumming Record At O Music Awards

Rocker Andrew W.K. brought MTV’s O Music Awards to a close with a bang on Thursday when he set a new world record by drumming for 24 hours straight.
The She Is Beautiful hitmaker set up his kit in the Oakley store in New York City’s Times Square on Wednesday with the aim to smash the current recordfor Longest Drum Session in a Retail Store.
During his exhausting stint the rocker was joined by guest drummers including Questlove, Chad Smith and Zac Hanson.
The challenge coincided with the O Music Awards, which celebrates the best in digital music, and the determined drummer finally reached the 24-hour mark on Thursday evening.
Andrew W.K. also won the Must-Follow Artist prize after smashing the record, alongside Joe Jonas, who picked up Best Artist Instagram, Jack White, who went home with the Analog Genius trophy, and Yoko Ono, who is now the proud owner of the Digital Genius Award.
Other recipients of O Music Awards included Linkin Park (Best Interactive Video for Lost in the Echo) and Avicii (Most Inspiring Fan Outreach).
