DJ and producer Avicii’s no-show at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Florida has been explained – the hitmaker was in hospital after suffering problems with his gallbladder.
The Wake Me Up hitmaker, real name Tim Bergling, was hospitalized on Thursday and had to scrap a show that night and another big gig at the festival on Friday.
Representatives for the Swedish DJ assured fans that Avicii was “going to be fine” and now it has emerged why he was suffering.
TMZ.com reports he has officially cancelled his Ultra showcase after having his gallbladder removed.
Sources tell the website he was admitted to hospital on Thursday with severe abdominal pains, nausea, and fever.
He’s not the only Ultra star falling ill in Miami – fellow DJ Afrojack was also hospitalized with exhaustion, while Stefan from Dada Life had to fly home to Sweden for emergency abdominal surgery.
And another performer, Laidback Luke, has pulled out of his Miami gigs after learning his wife has gone into labour.
