U.S. broadcasting veteran Barbara Walters is set to retire next year at the age of 84, according to reports.
The newswoman will reportedly step away from the spotlight after over 50 years on TV in May, 2014.
Industry website reports Walters will announce the news this upcoming May.
The news comes a little over two months after Walters was hospitalized following a fall while in Washington, D.C. to cover President Barack Obama’s inauguration in January.
She was then diagnosed with chicken pox, but battled back to health and returned to her seat on popular U.S. magazine show The View earlier this month.
