Barry Manilow has been ordered to postpone a second preview performance of his new Broadway residency as he battles bronchitis.
The Mandy hitmaker was forced to pull out of Tuesday night’s Manilow on Broadway gig in New York after falling ill with the respiratory condition, and his doctor has determined he is still too sick to hit the stage on Wednesday.
However, the singer is determined to overcome the ailment in time for Thursday’s big launch at the St. James Theater.
A message posted on his page on Wednesday afternoon reads: “On doctors’ orders, tonight’s performance of MANILOW ON BROADWAY has been rescheduled. A makeup performance has been added on Wednesday, February 27 at 7:00 pm to accommodate ticket holders.
“Barry thanks everyone for their understanding and is looking forward to returning to the stage of the St. James for tomorrow’s opening night performance….Come hell or high water!”
The week started so well for the veteran singer – he was honored with his own street corner in Manhattan on Tuesday morning, just hours before he had to pull out of his first preview.
