Bette Midler and Sharon Stone are teaming up for the film version of Charles Busch’s stage comedy The Tale Of The Allergist’S Wife.
The two stars will play childhood friends whose lives have taken very different directions.
Stone’s globe-trotting Lee turns the life of Midler’s Majorie Taub upside down when she comes to visit her and her allergist husband in New York.
Busch’s play opened at the Manhattan Theater Club in 2000, before transferring to Broadway.
Midler has just completed an acclaimed Broadway run in Hello Dolly!, for which he snagged a Tony for Best Actress in a Musical.
She’ll reteam with her Parental Guidance director Andy Fickman on The Tale Of The Allergist’s Wife.
