Rapper Big Boi has cancelled a string of concerts after injuring his leg during a gig in Illinois on Sunday.
The Outkast star, real name Antwan Andre Patton, was performing at the Summer Camp Music Festival when he sustained the injury, and he took to his page on Monday to tell fans about the mishap.
Uploading a photo of himself on crutches and with his left leg strapped up, he added, “Injured my leg on stage yesterday, headed to the A (sic) for some test.”
He subsequently axed his Monday night show in St. Louis, Missouri, and also cancelled his tour stop in Birmingham, Alabama at the weekend.
It is not yet known if the remainder of his concerts will be affected, but Big Boi returned to his tumblr account on Tuesday to update fans about his condition – and hinted that he is facing a lengthy hiatus.
Alongside a photograph of his bandaged leg elevated on a stool, he stated, “Shout out to the good folks at (treatment company) Game Ready and my Orthopedic surgeon 6 weeks then we back outchea (sic).”
