Black Swan, The Kings Speech Up For Top PGA Award

Black Swan and The King’s Speech will compete against fellow awards season favourites The Social Network, True Grit and 127 Hours for the Producers Guild of America’s (PGA) top movie prize.
Christopher Nolan’s Inception, The Fighter, The Kids Are All Right, The Town and Toy Story 3 were also amongthe 10 movies included on the PGA shortlist for its Darryl F. Zanuck Producer of the Year Award in Theatrical Motion.

Despicable Me is nominated in the best animated film category, alongside How to Train Your Dragon and Toy Story 3.

Meanwhile, producers of 30 Rock, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Glee scored mentions for The Danny Thomas Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television, Comedy – they will battle with the producers of Modern Family and The Office for the accolade.

The Norman Felton Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television, Drama nominees include Breaking Bad, Dexter, Lost, Mad Men and vampire series True Blood.

The guild previously announced it will give honorary awards to James Cameron, Laura Ziskin and Scott Rudin, as well as the producing team of Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman at the upcoming ceremony.

The nominations were announced on Tuesday and the winners of the 22nd Annual PGA Awards will be unveiled on 22 January at a ceremony in Hollywood hosted by funnyman Judd Apatow.
