U2 star Bono is teaming up with Senegalese singer Youssou N’dour for a concert to help end famine in East Africa.
The show, to be held in Kenya next year, will raise money for victims and increase awareness about the famine crisis in the Horn of Africa.

The fundraiser concert will follow an Olympics-inspired global relay, which will see a “solidarity torch” carried around the world in support of the campaign, according to Reuters.

N’Dour says, “(Bono) called me to tell me… ‘You can count on me because I’m a friend of Africa and I’m going to support you completely.’ Initiatives should not only come from there (the West) but also from here. It is also what we need to do to have a little dignity.”
