A representative for Boy George has slammed reports the singer angrily swore at fans waiting for him outside a New York nightclub last week.
The Culture Club frontman played a DJ set at huge club Pacha in the city on Thursday, and was welcomed by a crowd of around 30 fans eager to catch a glimpse of their idol as he arrived at the venue.
However, fans were reportedly left disappointed when the Brit refused to sign autographs.
One witness tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, “He emerged (from a car) with a bodyguard and when he saw 25 to 30 fans shivering in the cold wanting him to sign stuff, he exclaimed, ‘F**k this! I’m not signing or dealing with any of this!”
The star’s publicist has now blasted the claims, insisting he was simply rushing to get into the club as he was behind schedule.
The rep says, “This is not true… he was late for his set and needed to get into the club as quickly as possible to start… that’s the end of the story.”
