Mariah Carey’s husband Nick Cannon put his recent hospitalisation behind him by turning out to see his famous wife feted at the BET Honors in Washington, D.C. on Saturday night.
The rapper/actor was admitted to a medical facility in Aspen, Colorado earlier this month after suffering acute kidney failure during a winter break and was subsequently transferred to a Los Angeles hospital for surgery.

He was discharged last week to continue his recovery at home and he made his return to the spotlight by walking the red carpet at the BET Honors ceremony on Saturday.

Cannon and Carey were among guests including Willow Smith, Kelly Rowland, Aretha Franklin and singer Michelle Williams at the event, which saw the Hero hitmaker honored alongside poet/author Dr. Maya Angelou, Stevie Wonder and director Spike Lee.

The ceremony was hosted by actress Gabrielle Union and included performances from Smith and Franklin, as well as Patti LaBelle, and rapper Common.

The BET Honors show will air in the U.S. on 1 February.
