Cee Lo Green has pleaded not guilty to a felony charge he slipped an ex-girlfriend ecstasy before having sex with her last year.
The singer was in court in Los Angeles with his lawyer Blair Berk on Monday afternoon for an arraignment. He posted $30,000 bail and is expected to turn himself in to authorities for booking within 24 hours.
He’ll return to the courthouse for another hearing into the case next month. He faces up to four years behind bars if convicted.
Earlier on Monday, prosecutors dropped a charge of sexual assault against Green on the grounds of insufficient evidence.
His attorney told TMZ.com, “We are pleased that the Los Angeles County District Attorney has completed its investigation and concluded that the evidence did not support the false and unfounded claims made over a year ago.”
The plaintiff alleged Green had spiked her drink during a get together last November and she later woke up naked in a bed with him in the room.
