Hip-hop star Cee Lo Green will not face prosecution over allegations of sexual assault after Los Angeles authorities dismissed the charge.
The Forget You hitmaker became the subject of a police complaint last year after an unidentified female claimed her drink had been spiked with ecstasy during a dinner date. She alleged she woke up naked in a hotel room and realized she had been taken advantage of by the singer/rapper.
A representative for Green, real name Thomas DeCarlo Callaway, blasted the accusations at the time as “despicable, untrue and deeply hurtful”, and insisted the musician was the real victim in the case.
Detectives launched an investigation into the reported incident, with Green’s full co-operation, but the Los Angeles District Attorney has since tossed out the claims due to insufficient evidence.
Sources tell TMZ.com that conflicting stories also contributed to the dismissal amid reports that the woman had dated Green months prior and had already been intimate with The Voice star.
However, Green isn’t completely off the hook – he is expected to be officially charged with a drug-related felony later on Monday.
