Movie star Don Cheadle has a dream to take over Bollywood.
The Hotel Rwanda star has always had a fascination for Indian movies – and now he’d like to star in one.

He says, “I would love to sing and dance in a Bollywood movie. I think they’re great, the theatricality of them. I love the presentational aspect of the storytelling as a fable.

“So often in American cinema we’re trying to pull things off and it has to look real and things have to seem believable and the violence has to be really violent and the sex has to look good. If I’m sitting in a theater I know it’s bulls**t; I know that you’re not really dead. I know you’re not f**king. I don’t mind seeing something that’s fantastical.

“I like the fantasy aspect of that. I’ve done a bunch of different kinds of martial arts for a long time. I’m a fan of the genre when it’s done really well.”

And he’d also like a role in a martial arts movie: “I would have loved to have been in (2004 Stephen Chow film) Kung Fu Hustle. I thought that was a great movie. I’m not as skilled as those fighters but I would love to be a part of something like that.”
