George Clooney is to receive the Actor of the Year award at the 2011 Hollywood Film Festival.
The Ocean’s Eleven star is to be recognized for his portrayal of an emotional father in upcoming movie The Descendants and for his riveting supporting performance as a presidential candidate in political drama The Ides of March, which he also directed and co-wrote.

Festival founder Carlos de Abreu tells The Hollywood Reporter, “George Clooney delivered a flawless and passionate performance in Alexander Payne’s human drama The Descendants. Clooney continues to shine as one of Hollywood’s most gifted actors. We’re delighted to honor him at this year’s Hollywood Film Awards.”
