TV comedian Stephen Colbert has halted production of his nightly political affairs program The Colbert Report due to a mystery family emergency.
Fans who arrived for the studio show on Wednesday were told there would be no program due to “unforeseen circumstances”.
A statement from network bosses at the Comedy Central network read, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the show will air repeat episodes on Wednesday, February 15 and Thursday, February 16.”
A source has since told the Wall Street Journal that the suspension was due to an emergency in Colbert’s family.
