Michael Jackson’s convicted physician Dr. Conrad Murray is adamant the verdict in the singer’s wrongful death trial has vindicated him.
In 2011, Murray was found guilty of the involuntary manslaughter of the pop icon after giving him an accidental overdose of anesthetic that caused Jackson’s death in June, 2009.
The singer’s family subsequently filed a wrongful death lawsuit demanding compensation from concert promoters AEG Live for hiring Dr. Murray to treat the Thriller hitmaker, but a jury cleared AEG Live bosses of any wrongdoing on Wednesday and ruled the medic was not ‘incompetent’.
In an audio recording obtained by, Murray thanks God for the trial’s outcome and insists it has vindicated him as a doctor.
He says, “I just want to praise you Lord… Today you have vindicated my image… I have never been and never will be an inept physician. This has always been a frivolous and unjust lawsuit. This time there is justice. This time the jury got it right. Thank you Lord.”
