Courtney Love’s publicist has brushed off a new lawsuit from a former assistant as nothing but the murmurings of a “disgruntled ex-employee”.
Jessica LaBrie has filed a wrongful termination, wage and breach of contract lawsuit in Los Angeles, claiming Love intentionally withheld her salary because she refused to “commit fraudulent, unlawful, and unethical acts”.
LaBrie, who worked for the Hole singer from June 2010 to July 2011, alleges she was fired after she complained about not being paid. The plaintiff also alleged she had been asked to hire a computer hacker to alter business records during her tenure.
But Love’s publicist Steve Honig has released a statement disputing the claims.
He says, “The allegations are completely unfounded and are being made with malice by a disgruntled former employee.”
