Hollywood icon Martin Scorsese will receive a special musical tribute from Bob Dylan when he is handed the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards’ top honour on Thursday.
The director will receive the Broadcast Film Critics Association’s second Critics’ Choice Music and Film Award, which recognises “an accomplished filmmaker” who uses music to heighten cinematic impact.

The Raging Bull director was picked for the honour in part due to his concert movies, which include the Rolling Stones’ Shine a Light and George Harrison: Living in the Material World, and folk legend Dylan will take to the stage to perform for Scorsese at the prizegiving.

The late Beatles legend’s wife Olivia will co-present the award to Scorsese, along with his longtime film collaborator Leonardo DiCaprio.
