Elton John celebrated his 73rd birthday on COVID-19 lockdown on Wednesday and celebrated with handmade birthday cards from his sons, Zachary and Elijah.
The Candle In The Wind singer shared a snap of the boys’ gifts, pinned to a door, on Instagram, making it clear he was thrilled by his young sons’ cards.
“So nice to wake up to this! Thank you Zachary and Elijah,” he wrote. “Homemade cards are the best. Thank you boys!”
The rocker was inundated with well-wishes from friends and fans, with Victoria Beckham sharing a photo of the pair vacationing on a yacht and adding the caption: “Happy birthday, we love you so much.”
The birthday post came shortly after it was announced Elton will be hosting a coronavirus relief concert featuring Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, and Billie Eilish over the weekend.
The hour-long iHeart Living Room Concert for America on 29 March will also feature the Backstreet Boys, Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, and Tim McGraw. All the musicians will perform from the comfort of their own homes, using video and audio equipment. Viewers will be encouraged to donate to Feeding America and the First Responders Children’s Foundation as Elton and his famous friends belt out their hits.
