Rapper Eminem has reached a financial settlement with bosses at German car giant Audi after he filed suit objecting to the unauthorised use of his hit song Lose Yourself in an advert.
The hip-hop star and his production company launched legal action in June after realising the track, which was previously allowed to feature in a commercial for rival car maker Chrysler, was being used in a German promo for the new Audi A6 Avant without his consent.

Eminem also claimed the Audi film contained striking similarities to his own ad for Chrysler, which depicted him driving through his hometown of Detroit, Michigan behind the wheel of a new Chrysler 200.

He asked a judge to issue a cease and desist order to Audi bosses, but the legal action will go no further after the two parties reached a deal to settle the matter.

The terms of the agreement have not been disclosed, but Audi bosses are understood to have vowed to donate to the Imported from Detroit charity, among others.
