Erin Brockovich, the woman played by Julia Roberts in the Oscar-winning movie of the same name, has been arrested for allegedly driving a boat while drunk.
Roberts walked away with the Best Actress Academy Award for her 2000 portrayal of tough-talking Brockovich, a legal secretary who took on a gas and electricity company over contamination of a California town’s water supply and won a historic lawsuit.
Brockovich, who went on to carve out a TV career, was taken into custody in Las Vegas on Friday after she was arrested for allegedly steering her boat on Lake Mead while intoxicated.
She was taken to the Clark County Detention Center and booked for operating under the influence (OUI).
