A golf fan has been arrested for throwing a hot dog at Tiger Woods during a tournament in California.
The sports star was taking part in the Open at CordeValle course on Sunday when a man burst out of the crowd and threw a frankfurter at him as he was preparing to putt.

Security guards immediately pounced and the man was subsequently arrested, according to Sky Sports News.

Woods subsequently told reporters he was baffled by the bizarre incident: “I guess he wanted to be in the news. And I’m sure he will be… I was kind of focusing on my putt when he started yelling. Next thing I know he lay on the ground, and looked like he wanted to be arrested because he put his hands behind his back and turned his head. When I looked up, the hot dog was already in the air. He was pretty far away from me.”
