Late Slipknot star Paul Gray was honored at Britain’s Sonisphere festival on Sunday with a two-minute silence.
The bassist, who died from an accidental drug overdose in an Iowa motel room last year, was remembered by fans as the dead rocker’s bandmates paid tribute to the star backstage before their headlining performance at the event – one of the first they have played since the tragedy.

His bass, red jump suit and mask were placed at the center of the stage for the moment of remembrance.

Announcing the end of the silent tribute, host Daniel P. Carter told fans, “The band are all here and they want you to know that they are eternally grateful and Paul Gray would be very touched.”
