A representative for Flavor Flav has shot down reports the veteran rapper’s fiancee was hospitalized after suffering an accidental drug overdose on Monday, putting the health scare down to exhaustion.
Liz Trujillo allegedly started acting strangely as she filmed scenes with the 54-year-old hip-hop star for the upcoming season of. reality show Couples Therapy, with editors at TMZ.com claiming an ambulance was called because she had taken too many painkillers.
The star’s spokesperson has now addressed Trujillo’s hospital trip, blaming the 39-year-old’s health drama on a bout of exhaustion after missing out on sleep to film the series.
The rep tells TMZ, “The claim of an overdose, or any involvement of drugs, could not be further from the truth.”
Flavor Flav, real name William Drayton, Jr., is taking part in the TV therapy sessions to try and fix his troubled relationship, months after he was arrested at the couple’s Las Vegas home following a fight with Trujillo and her teenage son. He was charged with one count of felony assault with a deadly weapon and one count of misdemeanour domestic violence as a result of the incident.
