Football star Colin Kaepernick is at the center of a police investigation into a “suspicious incident” involving a woman in Miami, Florida.
A woman who claims to be a former lover of the San Francisco 49ers quarterback recently told cops she had joined the hunk and his teammate Quinton Patton at fellow sports star Ricardo Lockette’s Miami apartment for drinks earlier this month, but she was allegedly told she had to take a ‘hit’ of marijuana from a bong before she could down her shots.
The female started to feel lightheaded and went into a bedroom to lie down.
According to the police report, Kaepernick “came up behind her into the bedroom and started kissing her” and undressing her.
It continues, “She got completely naked. Mr. Kaepernick told her that he was going to be right back and left the bedroom. They did not have sex.”
The woman claims she was still naked in bed when other men at the pad opened the door to her room and “peeked” inside, but she appeared to pass out and woke up hours later in a hospital bed, with no recollection of how she had gotten there.
Police officials have only described the situation as a “suspicious incident”, but editors at report the case has been referred to the Special Victim’s Office, which handles sex crimes.
The investigation is still in its early stages and no arrests have been made or charges filed.
A statement released by the San Francisco 49ers team’s general manager, Trent Baalke, reads: “The 49ers organization is aware of the recent media report regarding Colin Kaepernick and is in the process of gathering the pertinent facts.”
The footballer, who led his team to the 2013 Super Bowl, has yet to comment on the reports.
