George Clooney has fallen foul of traffic laws in Venice, Italy after taking the wheel of a water taxi.
The Descendants star was promoting his new movie Gravity at the Venice Film Festival with co-star Sandra Bullock earlier this week, and was photographed on Thursday steering their water vehicle.
The picture caught the eye of a local lawyer Mario D’Elia, who sent a letter to police, explaining the actor would need a nautical license and permit to drive a water taxi, and he has asked cops to check the movie star’s credentials.
D’Elia says, “I asked the authorities to go to the Hotel Cipriani to see if Clooney has a nautical license.”
The actor laughed off the drama when asked about it on Friday.
He says, “Other than getting lost in space (in his new movie), turning in Venice by boat is one of the most difficult situations I faced.”
