Country music legend Merle Haggard has scrapped the remainder of his January concert dates so he can recover from a nasty bout of pneumonia.
The Okie from Muskogee singer was admitted to hospital in Georgia on Tuesday with an undisclosed illness. It has since been discovered he is being treated for pneumonia.

The 74-year-old musician pulled out of his show at the Macon City Auditorium just minutes before taking the stage on Tuesday and now he has cancelled the rest of his January gigs.

Haggard’s tour manager, Frank Mull, has revealed the singer first fell ill last week.
