Health officials in New York have launched a review into the clinic where Joan Rivers suffered a cardiac arrest during a routine throat procedure.
The veteran comedienne’s heart stopped while she was undergoing a procedure at the Yorkville Endoscopy clinic in the Big Apple on Thursday. She was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital where she remains on life support in a serious condition.
It has now emerged officials at the New York State Health Department are looking into the incident.
A representative for the body tells they are “reviewing the matter” and have contacted the clinic where Rivers underwent the procedure.
The review is not a formal investigation and could take several weeks to conclude.
