Paris Hilton is constantly on her guard when appearing in public after a run-in with a knife-wielding man at her home last year left her fearing for her safety.
The socialite was at home when Nathan Lee Parada allegedly tried to break into her mansion. Hilton’s boyfriend, Cy Waits, confronted Parada and held him until cops arrived to take him into custody.

The heiress admits the incident left her “always thinking” about self-defence when she’s meeting fans at public signings and promotional events.

In her new TV show, The World According To Paris, she says, “Just walking along the street or going anywhere or even just being on a signing, you never know who is going to show up and what their intentions are.

“I’ve already had the guy trying to break in to my home with two huge knives so you just think, ‘What would he have done if he actually got in?’ I’m always thinking about that stuff.”

Parada faces three years behind bars when he is sentenced later this month.
