Idina Menzel has been forced to postpone a show at New York’s Carnegie Hall for a second time as city officials work to fix a crane boom left dangling over the prestigious venue in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.
The Tony Award-winning Broadway star was originally set to perform on the Carnegie stage on Monday but the concert was rescheduled for Sunday.
However, Menzel has had to delay the gig until next year after strong winds damaged the crane and left it hanging, forcing the evacuation of buildings on 57th Street below.
In a post on her page, the singer/actress writes, “First it was Frankenstorm, now it’s Frankencrane. Sorry about another cancellation. Hope you can all join me in January! Most importantly, be safe and look out for each other.”
A string of Hollywood film screenings at the DGA Theater have also been called off due to the street closures.
