Broadcasting chiefs in Britain have launched an investigation after comic David Walliams provoked a storm of complaints with a saucy TV gag.
The Little Britain funnyman made an appearance on the Chris Moyles’ Quiz Night gameshow on Channel 4 in late October and during the programme, he made a joke about wanting to perform a sexual act on a member of boyband One Direction.

The gag prompted a flurry of complaints from viewers and executives at watchdog Ofcom are now investigating whether the remark breached the broadcasting code, according to the Sunday Telegraph.

An Ofcom spokesman says, “We will assess the complaints against the Broadcasting Code, the rule book of standards which broadcasters must adhere to.”
