Hugh Jackman is a Broadway record breaker – his new musical show has smashed one-week grosses at the Broadhurst Theater.
Ticket sales for Back on Broadway raked in over $1.2 million last week, beating previous records set by Billy Crystal’s 700 Sundays, Jude Law’s Hamlet and The Merchant of Venice, starring Al Pacino.

Tony Award-winner Jackman officially returns to the New York stage for a 10-week engagement on 10 November.

In the show, the movie star performs a personal selection of his favorite musical numbers accompanied by an 18-piece orchestra.
