Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling has secretly published a crime novel using a fake name.
Critically-acclaimed The Cuckoo’s Calling, about a war veteran turned private investigator, was released earlier this year under the pen name Robert Galbraith, but Rowling has now revealed she is the mastermind behind the book.
She tells Britain’s The Sunday Times, “I had hoped to keep this secret a little longer because being Robert Galbraith has been such a liberating experience.
“It has been wonderful to publish without hype or expectation, and pure pleasure to get feedback under a different name.”
As well as the Harry Potter books, Rowling has also penned an adult novel, The Casual Vacancy.
