Rock icon Billy Joel has scrapped plans for his memoirs because he has no interest in discussing the problems of his past.
The Piano Man announced in early March he was putting pen to paper to tell all about his highly-publicised battle with booze, his failed marriages and his struggle with depression in The Book of Joel.

The tome was to be published by HarperCollins in June, but the singer has now had a change of heart and decided against revealing all to fans, insisting they just need to listen to his music to learn about the highs and lows of his life.

According to the Associated Press, Joel only realized he was not comfortable with the project when he sat down to start recounting his memories.
