Seinfeld star Julia Louis-Dreyfus is set to receive the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy later this month.
The actress will be feted at the 2014 Britannia Awards on 30 October in California at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
A statement from BAFTA LA chairman Nigel Daly reads: “Her ability to create iconic, enduring characters… and her most recent role as Eva in (film) Enough Said, is such that it is impossible to imagine the last 20 years of comedy without her.”
Past recipients of the accolade include Sacha Baron Cohen, Ben Stiller and Betty White.
The prizegiving ceremony will be broadcast on 2 November on BBC America.
