Justin Bieber’s longtime manager Scooter Braun has shown his support for the troubled pop star by insisting he will stand by him following his DUI arrest in Florida on Thursday.
The teen superstar is currently free on bail after he was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI), resisting arrest without violence and driving with an expired driver’s licence following an alleged drag race on the roads of Miami Beach.
The 19 year old is said to have cursed at cops after they stopped his rented Lamborghini sports car and admitted to having smoked marijuana, consumed alcohol and taken prescription drugs prior to his arrest.
Subsequent rumours suggested Bieber’s representatives are unhappy with the singer following the headline-grabbing incident, but the star’s longtime manager Braun has now spoken out to insist he is supporting his embattled charge.
In a post on Twitter.com, he writes, “Justin Bieber love you and I will act in the manner of someone who truly cares. That is all I have to say. Thanks for all those concerned (sic).”
He adds, “Been a long day. Bottom line is we are defined by how we handle adversity. Be there when it counts. Love fully in good times and bad.”
Braun recently spoke out about his strained relationship with the singer, telling The Hollywood Reporter that he has struggled to control the rebellious teenager: “When Justin was younger, it was, ‘Keep him out of trouble, stop him from falling down’… When I try to do that now, he’s resentful, he pushes away and rebels… I saw the rebellion, I saw our relationship being hurt. We were struggling in talking to each other because I wasn’t having conversations about anything good anymore. It was constantly calling to say, ‘No!'”
