Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman is still haunted by the devastation she witnessed first-hand when she travelled to Haiti to meet with women left homeless by January’s earthquake, admitting it was “just horrifying”.
The Hours star flew to the country in July as part of her role as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations’ Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) and visited survivors living in temporary camps.

But Kidman admits seeing so many people in poverty in the tents was a difficult sight to deal with.

She tells Good Morning America, “I couldn’t believe it, that it was so close to America and that it was literally rubble. The tent cities and stuff are just horrifying and it’s gonna take so long to rebuild.”
