Rapper Kodak Black missed his concert in Boston on Wednesday night because he was arrested on drugs and weapons charges while attempting to enter the U.S.
The 21-year-old angered fans by failing to show up to his gig at The House of Blues and it was subsequently revealed that he was “missing” because his team had no idea where he was or why the concert had been canceled at the last minute.
Law enforcement sources have since confirmed to TMZ.com that Kodak, real name Bill K. Kapri, was arrested and detained while trying to enter the U.S. from Canada via the Lewiston-Queenston International Bridge.
The rapper was reportedly driving a Cadillac Escalade with a temporary California registration with two passengers inside. The vehicle was stopped by U.S. customs officers who discovered marijuana on him and found a Glock 9mm pistol which had been undeclared.
Kodak was arrested for criminal possession of a weapon and a misdemeanor possession of marijuana charge. He is being held in custody on a $20,000 cash bond or $40,000 bond.
There was also a Porsche traveling with his team containing three people. Jeantony Saintmelus, the driver of the Porsche, stated he had two loaded handguns but a third was found in the trunk alongside more marijuana. He was booked for criminal possession of a weapon and possession of marijuana.
Stetson President and Madarrow Smith, who were traveling in Kodak’s car, were also arrested for criminal possession of a weapon.
