Soul star Patti Labelle’s bodyguard and hairdresser have been charged with assault stemming from an alleged altercation in March.
Efrem Holmes, 43, and Norma Harris, 63, are facing legal action from Richard King, who claims the pair attacked him at Bush International Airport in Houston, Texas.

Authorities have decided to press forward with assault charges after watching a surveillance video of the incident, according to the Houston Chronicle.

The footage appears to show a bloody King being pushed to the ground by a man and a woman, believed to be LaBelle’s employees.

The Lady Marmalade hitmaker is countersuing King, a cadet at the United States Military Academy at West Point.

King, who was taken to hospital and treated for head injuries, is seeking actual and punitive damages.
