Actor Liam Hemsworth holds no hard feelings against Jean Claude Van Damme for accidentally hitting him with one of his signature kicks on the set of The Expendables 2, insisting it was “an honor” to be on the receiving end of the strike.
The Hunger Games star reveals he was caught off guard when Van Damme actually made contact with him in one fight scene.
He tells TV host Conan O’Brien, “We had a scene where he kicks me in the chest and he wasn’t really supposed to hit me in the chest. We did a take and he did a full Van Damme kick and he hit me right in the chest. After, he’s like, ‘You OK?’ and I’m like, ‘Yeah I’m good, no worries’ and then he came up (and said), ‘It’s OK, it’s a controlled kick,’ and I’m like, ‘It’s not that controlled because you hit me. You kicked me full in the chest.'”
However, the Australian actor claims he really didn’t mind because he was just happy to work with the martial arts icon.
He continues, “It was an honor to receive that kick. I think if you’re going to get kicked by someone, Van Damme is a good person to get kicked by.”
