Lindsay Lohan is back behind bars after a Los Angeles judge ruled on she had violated her probation by failing two court-ordered drug tests.

The Mean Girls star returned to the Beverly Hills courthouse on Friday to face the consequences of her actions, and she felt the wrath of Superior Court Judge Elden S. Fox when he ordered her to be remanded in custody immediately and denied her bail.

She is expected to be held in custody until her next court appearance on 22 October.

At a previous court hearing, Judge Fox had warned Lohan she would face 30 days in jail if she tested positive or skipped one of her twice-weekly tests.

Lohan spent 13 days behind bars and another 23 days in a lock-down rehab center this summer after she was found guilty of violating her probation on a 2007 DUI arrest.

Lohan’s mother Dina and estranged father Michael Lohan were both present for Friday’s court hearing.

The sentence was clearly a shock for the actress, who turned up to court wearing stiletto Louboutins, designer clothes and her favorite jewellery items.

A court insider tells WENN, “She didn’t look like she was expecting this. Many people expected her to be free on bail, but the judge clearly had other plans.”

A stoic Lohan was handcuffed in court and led away as her attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, asked the judge if there was room for negotiation. He insisted there wasn’t.
