Los Angeles County district attorney’s officials have confirmed they’ll be charging actress Lindsay Lohan with one count of felony grand theft on suspicion of stealing a $2,500 necklace on Wednesday.
Weekend reports suggested the Mean Girls star would be charged on Monday, but that date was pushed back.

The owner of a Venice, California store has accused Lohan of stealing the “one of a kind necklace” last month.

An associate of the actress handed over the alleged stolen item to police as the authorities were preparing to raid the star’s home last week.

Lohan, 24, is currently on supervised probation for a drunk driving conviction and if the judge overseeing her case rules she violated her probation by taking the necklace, the actress faces 180 days in jail.

Lohan maintains the jewelry item was loaned to her.
