Actress Lori Loughlin has been arrested and taken into custody in Los Angeles in connection to a college bribery scam.
The Fuller House was surrendered to police officials on Wednesday morning after returning to California from Vancouver, Canada, where she was shooting TV series When Calls The Heart.
The actress and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, are charged with paying $500,000 to a scheme to get their two daughters into the University of Southern California as part of the school’s crew team – even though neither is a rower.
Giannulli was arrested on Tuesday and appeared in court alongside another high-profile defendant, Felicity Huffman, who was released on bail after surrendering her passport.
Loughlin will appear in federal court in Los Angeles on Wednesday afternoon, when she is expected to enter a plea. She will also be given a primary hearing date to appear in federal court in Boston, Massachusetts, where the U.S. Attorney for the District of Massachusetts will oversee the case.
At his quick hearing on Tuesday, Giannulli put up $1 million and surrendered his passport. He will appear in court in Boston on 29 March.
The couple and Huffman are among 50 people – 33 parents – linked to the college admission cheating scheme.
