Actress Lucy Hale has sparked concern after posting then quickly deleting a message about suffering sexual assault on social media.
The Pretty Little Liars star published the alarming note to her Instagram and Twitter accounts on Thursday, prompting fans to worry about her well-being.
“I deleted it from Instagram. But this needs to be heard,” she tweeted in a post attached a cryptic note that read: “I never understood sexual assault until tonight. I always sympathized, but never felt the pain of it until right now. My dignity and pride was broken. I am completely at a loss of words.”
“I feel for anyone that has felt this pain that I feel right now,” she added. “But I promise. I will not let a moment go by that I don’t try to make a difference.”
Lucy did not offer anymore insight into the alleged sexual abuse she appears to have detailed in the post.
The 28-year-old has not had a safe start in the New Year – she was the victim of a burglary on January 5.
TMZ reported a thief smashed one of Lucy’s front windows and stole jewelry and purses worth an estimated $15,000 .
“Thanks for all the kind words about my house… luckily no one was hurt,” Hale tweeted in response to concerned fans who offered their support following the theft. “Sad to lose some sentimental items, but thankful to be safe.”
Lucy isn’t the only celebrity burglary target in recent months – Jason Derulo, Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Alanis Morissette have also had their Los Angeles area homes broken into.
