Matthew Broderick is taking a break from Broadway after signing up for a full-time TV role.
The Ferris Bueller’s Day Off star has been concentrating on theater work in recent years and is currently starring in a New York production of musical Nice Work If You Can Get It, but he looks set to be heading to the small screen in a new comedy series.
Broderick has signed up to play a widowed single father in a new show from the makers of Scrubs.
The currently-untitled comedy is the brainchild of Scrubs executive producer Tad Quill.
Broderick has enjoyed a string of small TV roles over the last few years with guest appearances in Modern Family and 30 Rock.
