Michael Jackson’s long-awaited new single will debut during the inaugural iHeartRadio Music Awards on Thursday night.
Love Never Felt So Good will feature a “special guest” performance, and insiders claim Justin Timberlake will hit the stage in Los Angeles to perform with his late idol.
Timberlake has a photo of the single’s cover art, which lists Jackson and himself as the song’s artists, on Instagram.
The track, which was written in 1983 and recorded by crooner Johnny Mathis in 1984, will feature on Jackson’s posthumous album Xscape, which will be released at the end of May.
Executive producer Antonio ‘L.A.’ Reid compiled the album after spending months searching through over 40 years of music in the Jackson estate vaults, looking for unreleased songs with completed vocal tracks.
The tunes were then passed to producers like Timbaland, John McClain and Rodney Jerkins, who reworked the songs with artists like Timberlake and Mary J. Blige.
Jackson’s Love Never Felt So Good will be one of many live highlights at the prizegiving – Blake Shelton, Drake, Shakira, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams and Pitbull are also expected to hit the stage.
