Miley Cyrus is making light of the controversy surrounding her raunchy performance at the MTV Video Music Awards in cheeky promos for her upcoming appearance on Saturday Night Live.
The superstar shocked fans and critics alike in August when she hit the stage at the New York ceremony in a barely-there outfit and danced provocatively, sticking out her tongue, as she teamed up with Robin Thicke for a duet of his summer smash Blurred Lines.
She has been defending her steamy set ever since, and now she’s using it as material for her weekend stint as host and musical guest of SNL.
In one advertising spot for the show, she appears alongside exasperated funnyman Taran Killam, who jokingly asks, “Miley, that VMAs performance… how could you?!”, as Cyrus replies, “I know, how could I?! And what was I wearing?”
In another commercial, Killam questions the 20 year old about why she’s always sticking out her tongue, prompting her to quip, “It’s how I smell.”
