Model-turned-actress Molly Sims struggled for over a year to shed the 65 pounds (29.48 kilograms) she had gained while pregnant with her first child after unknowingly suffering from a thyroid issue.
The Yes Man beauty, who is married to producer Scott Stuber, was only diagnosed with the hormone gland problem last year, and she admits she was relieved to have found the root of her problem after trying and failing to regain her sexy figure after giving birth to son Brooks in June, 2012.
Sims, who now takes medication to keep the health issue under control, tells, “It (losing pregnancy pounds) was hard work. It was hard work for almost 13, 14 months because of my thyroid issue, but once I knew what it was I got it under control.”
The 40-year-old star has since adapted her diet and exercise plan to accommodate the thyroid condition, and Sims hopes her new lifestyle will help prevent such a struggle the next time she falls pregnant – which could be sooner rather than later.
She adds, “We’re starting on baby number two…”
