Ailing actress Zsa Zsa Gabor underwent surgery to remove two blood clots on Saturday – just three days after she was discharged from hospital following a hip operation.

The 93 year old was admitted to a medical centre on Friday with complications stemming from treatment she received after breakingher hip at her mansion in Bel-Air, California on 17 July.

Gabor was only discharged from UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center in Los Angeles on Wednesday after extending her initial stay under doctors’ care, after suffering a bad reaction to morphine.

On Friday, she was readmitted to a medical facility, where two blood clots were located in her upper body – one very close to her heart, according to the Associated Press.

The website reports that the screen icon underwent surgery on Saturday – her 24th wedding anniversary to Prince Frederic von Anhalt – and is expected to be released from hospital at the beginning of next week.

A statement from her daughter Constance Francesca Hilton’s rep, Ed Lozzi, reads, “Her doctors told us it was a fairly routine procedure, that it wasn’t something to panic over.”
