British rocker Morrissey has reportedly halted the publication of his new autobiography just days before it was due to go on sale due to a disagreement over its content.
The former The Smiths star was set to release his book on Monday, but the publication is now said to have been cancelled after a fall out with bosses of the Penguin Books publishing house.
A statement posted on the star’s online fan site reads, “Although Morrissey’s autobiography was set to be available throughout the UK on September 16th, a last-minute content disagreement between Penguin Books and Morrissey has caused the venture to collapse. No review copies were printed, and Morrissey is now in search of a new publisher.”
The memoirs were reportedly set to chronicle the star’s early life in Manchester, England as well as his rise to fame and his complicated relationship with former The Smiths co-star Johnny Marr.
